How To Be An Engaged Citizen As A Writer..

The society nowadays seems to be in chaos but in a quiet manner thanks to the era we live in presently. There seems to be a rhythm in rush these days, most are so self driven by their pursuit of success and fulfillment that they forget about some vital societal issues being faced in the society, examples of such includes but not limited cases surrounding gun violence and how it has grown since the 80’s, the fact that the minority group of the modern day american society still suffer segregation but in a quiet manner which seems to be barely attended to by the government. With this into consideration, as a writer, i believe being an engaged citizen, it would be of so much good if putting out articles to help educate and broaden the horizon of the younger generation, identify the fault in the present generation and also make them understand that waiting on the authorities or only aspiring to run for office before they can change things in the society could nearly be a futile effort, more so, being in authority to change things shouldn’t just be the aim, but as a citizen of an egalitarian society, taking a stand in unity, regardless of race, ethnicity or background as to what really is right in the society and how to foster peace among citizens should be of paramount importance. Inculcating the idea surrounding democracy as it is the case whereby citizens have power as to who and how the society should be governed. I believe making the younger generation aware of this and understanding this would set the society on the right track as to bring everything plaguing a society to its minimum, be it unemployment, educational costs, educational standards etc.

In Class Exercise – May 28, 2019

Writing for me has never been a thing of interest, and as a matter of fact, in as much as i enjoy reading peoples work, i never enjoy writing for no reason at all. If i am to talk about what i know about writing, i can go back with reminiscing about all of what i have penned down as an individual, be it about my personal experience or issues surrounding me. However, without much unnecessary thoughts, i would say that proper writing for me began in spring semester 2019 in my composition 1 class which was not initially fun to me but eventually became quite wonderful because i got introduced to some fancy words one calls a technique with which a text being produced should be called, words like ethos, pathos, logos were introduced and if i may say, quite frankly, i sometimes do not understand how to identify them but with careful observation, i tend to understand them. Creating an argumentative essay and comparative analysis with carefully asking questions to buttress my point as regards my chosen topic is something i had to learn. With all of this being said, i still find it hard to title my piece, no matter how interesting it may look to me.
